SBI Assistant & Deputy Manager Jobs 2026: Check JMGS-I & MMGS-II Pay Scales

State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official recruitment notification for Specialist Cadre Officers (SCO) under Advertisement No. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/02 (p. 2). Online applications are invited from eligible Indian lawyers for regular positions as Assistant Manager (Law) and Deputy Manager (Law) 
The registration window remains active from 24 June 2026 to 14 July 2026 (p. 2).

Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
  • Mandatory: Graduate degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized Indian university (p. 2).
  • Preferred: Candidates with a 5-year integrated law course will receive preference (p. 2).
2. Mandatory Post-Qualification Experience (As on 31.05.2026)
  • Assistant Manager (Law): Minimum 2 years of active experience as a practicing advocate (enrolled with the Bar Council) or as a Law Officer in the legal cell of a Scheduled Commercial Bank (p. 2).
  • Deputy Manager (Law): Minimum 4 years of identical experience as a practicing advocate or Scheduled Commercial Bank Law Officer (p. 2).

Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Selection relies on an Online Written Test (tentatively in August 2026) followed by an Interview . The weightage structure splits into 70% Written Exam and 30% Interview .
  • Objective Test (50 Marks): Features Reasoning (25 questions), English Language (35 questions), and Professional Knowledge (50 questions) (p. 8). Only the Professional Knowledge section counts toward shortlisting .
  • Descriptive Test (50 Marks): Candidates must answer any 5 out of 8 law-specific questions within 45 minutes .
  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for wrong answers .

  • General / OBC / EWS: ₹750 (p. 10)
  • SC / ST / PwBD: Nil (Exempted) (p. 10)
