NIC Scientific Technical Assistant A Recruitment 2026 Through GATE Score – 376 Posts, Apply Online at recruitment.nic.in

The National Informatics Centre (NIC), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has invited online applications for the post of Scientific/Technical Assistant-A (Group-B, Non-Gazetted). Selection will be made purely on the basis of a valid GATE score (2024, 2025, or 2026) — no separate written exam or interview is conducted.

Level 6, 7th CPC: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400

Eligibility (Educational Qualification)

• For CS/IT posts: M.Sc./MS/MCA/B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, IT, Informatics, or related fields, with a valid GATE score in CS paper.
• For ECE posts: Relevant degree with valid GATE score in EC paper.
• For Data Science & AI posts: Relevant degree with valid GATE score in DA paper.
• No prior work experience required.

Age Limit (as on 30 September 2026)

• UR/EWS: 30 years
• SC/ST: 35 years
• OBC (NCL): 33 years
• PwBD: up to 45 years (category-dependent)
• Relaxation applicable for in-service and ex-servicemen candidates as per government norms.

Application Fee

• UR/OBC(NCL)/EWS: ₹800 per discipline
• SC/ST/PwBD/Women: Nil

Selection Process

1. Merit list prepared discipline-wise based on GATE score (2024/2025/2026 — best score considered, equal weightage across years).
2. Document verification of shortlisted candidates.
3. Provisional appointment after successful verification.
