NHPC Limited, a prestigious Navratna Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, is inviting online applications for its Apprentice Training Program 2026. This program offers a one-year training duration across various units in India for promising and energetic candidates.
Vacancies and Eligibility Overview
NHPC is offering slots for Graduate, Diploma, and ITI apprentices in multiple disciplines across locations like Dhauliganga, Teesta VI, Uri, Sewa II, Kishanganga, Chamera-II, Parbati-II, and Subansiri Lower.

Stipend Details: The monthly stipend is inclusive of the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) amount provided by the Government of India under the NATS scheme.

DBT Amount: Diploma Apprentices receive ₹4,000/- and Graduate Apprentices receive ₹4,500/- via DBT.
Key Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age. Relaxations for reserved categories are provided as per Government guidelines.

Educational Qualification: Applicants must possess the requisite degree, diploma, or ITI qualification from a recognized institute.

Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically fit as per the Apprentice Act, 1961.

Ineligibility: Those awaiting results or who have already undergone apprenticeship training for a year or more are not eligible.
Selection Process
There will be no interview. Selection is based on merit calculated from the following weightage:

Graduate Apprentice: 20% for 10th Class, 20% for 12th/Diploma, and 60% for aggregate in Engineering/Graduation.

Diploma Technician: 30% for 10th Class and 70% for Diploma in Engineering.

ITI Technician: 30% for 10th Class and 70% for ITI in the concerned trade.
Preference is given first to Project Affected Families, then to candidates from the local district, and finally to those from the same State/UT where the project is located.
