BSNL Senior Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026: Apply for 120 SET (Telecom & Finance) Vacancies

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a premier Government of India Enterprise, has officially released its notification for the Direct Recruitment of Senior Executive Trainees (SET) for the year 2026. This recruitment drive is specifically targeted at external candidates from the open market who are looking to build a high-impact career in the telecommunications and financial sectors.

With the digital landscape in India expanding rapidly, BSNL is seeking dynamic and qualified professionals to join its ranks and contribute to the nation’s connectivity goals. This year, the corporation has announced a total of 120 vacancies across two specialized streams.


Vacancy Breakdown and Salary Structure

The recruitment is divided into two primary disciplines:

  • SET (Telecom Stream): 95 Posts

  • SET (Finance Stream): 25 Posts

Reservations for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are strictly implemented as per Central Government guidelines.

Selected candidates will be placed in the IDA pay scale [E-3] of Rs. 24,900 – Rs. 50,500 (pre-revised). Beyond the competitive salary, these roles offer the opportunity for rapid career progression. After a successful two-year probation period, trainees are designated as Senior Executives. Remarkably, after just three years of service from the date of appointment, employees can be considered for promotion to the Assistant General Manager (E-4 Pay Scale) grade.


Eligibility Criteria & Key Dates

To be eligible for these positions, candidates must be Indian Nationals between the ages of 21 and 30 years as of the closing date of applications. Age relaxations apply for reserved categories, including 3 years for OBC (NCL), 5 years for SC/ST, and up to 15 years for PwBD candidates.

Educational Requirements (Annexure-A):

  • Telecom: A Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree (or equivalent) in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, IT, Electrical, or Instrumentation with a minimum of 60% marks.

  • Finance: Must be a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA).

Important Recruitment Dates:

  • Registration Start: February 5, 2026 (10:00 Hrs).

  • Registration End: March 7, 2026 (10:00 Hrs).

  • Editing Window: March 8 to March 15, 2026.

  • Tentative Exam Date (CBT): March 29, 2026.


Selection Process and Examination Scheme

The selection will be based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT) featuring Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The exam consists of one paper divided into two parts, lasting a total of 180 minutes:

  1. Part-I (Common): Aptitude Test – 40 Marks/Questions.

  2. Part-II (Core): Technical Test (Telecom or Finance) – 160 Marks/Questions.

Candidates should note that there is negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. To qualify, General candidates must secure at least 40% in each part and 50% overall, while reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWS) require 35% in each part and 45% overall.
