The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released a fresh recruitment notice for Agniveervayu Intake 01/2027 under the Agnipath Scheme. This entry is designed for young Indian citizens who wish to experience military life and serve the nation for a four-year engagement period in the Air Force.
Online applications are invited from unmarried male and female candidates who fulfill the prescribed eligibility conditions.

This recruitment does not include Commissioned Officers, Pilots, Navigators, or regular Airmen posts.
Age Limit

Eligible candidates must be born between 01 January 2006 and 01 July 2009 (inclusive).

Maximum age at the time of enrolment must not exceed 21 years.
Marital Status
-
Only unmarried candidates are eligible.

Marriage during the engagement period of four years is strictly prohibited.

Female candidates must also undertake not to become pregnant during the engagement period.
Educational Qualification
For Science Subjects
-
Passed 10+2 / Intermediate with Physics, Mathematics, and English
-
Minimum 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English
OR
-
Three-year Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institute
OR
-
Two-year vocational course with Physics and Mathematics
For Other Than Science Subjects
-
10+2 / Intermediate in any stream with required minimum marks
Candidates eligible for science subjects may appear for both categories in a single examination.
Physical and Medical Standards (Brief)

Minimum Height: 152 cm (male & female, relaxations applicable)

Chest (Male): Minimum 77 cm with 5 cm expansion

Vision, hearing, dental, and general health must meet IAF standards
Final medical fitness will be decided by the Air Force Medical Board.
Selection Procedure
The selection process is conducted in the following stages:

Phase II – Physical Fitness Test, Adaptability Tests & Document Verification

Phase III – Medical Examination
Candidates must qualify in each phase to remain in the selection process.
Pay, Allowances & Benefits

Starting monthly package of ₹30,000, with yearly increment

One-time Seva Nidhi Package of approximately ₹10.04 lakh after four years
There is no pension or gratuity under this scheme.
Career Opportunities After Service

Up to 25% of Agniveervayu may be absorbed into the regular Air Force cadre based on merit and service requirement
