Indian Army Officer Recruitment 2026 for Engineering Graduates

The Indian Army has released the official notification for the 67th Short Service Commission (Technical) Course – SSC Tech-67 (Men). This recruitment is a golden opportunity for unmarried male engineering graduates who wish to serve the nation as Commissioned Officers in one of the world’s most respected armed forces.

The vacancies are distributed across various engineering disciplines. These vacancies are tentative and may be increased or decreased as per organizational requirements of the Indian Army.

🎓 Educational Qualification (Very Important)

Candidates must fulfill one of the following conditions:

✔ Passed Candidates

• Must possess a B.E./B.Tech degree in a notified engineering stream

• Degree should be awarded by:

  • AICTE-approved institutions

  • UGC-recognized universities

  • Central / State Government recognized institutes

✔ Final Year Candidates

• Candidates studying in the final year of engineering are eligible

• Must submit:

  • Proof of passing the engineering degree

  • All semester mark sheets
    before the specified deadline mentioned by the Indian Army

• Maximum Age: 27 Years

• Date of Birth Range:

  • Born between 01 October 1999 to 30 September 2006 (inclusive)

🪖 Nationality Criteria

Candidate must be:

• A citizen of India, OR

• A subject of Nepal, OR

• A person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanent settlement in India (as per Government of India rules)

🧠 Selection Process – Step-by-Step

1️⃣ Shortlisting of Applications

• Applications are shortlisted branch-wise

• Cut-off marks are decided based on:

  • Engineering discipline

  • Number of vacancies

  • Aggregate marks obtained till last semester

2️⃣ SSB Interview (5 Days)

Shortlisted candidates are called for SSB Interview at:

• Prayagraj

• Bhopal

• Bengaluru

• Jalandhar

SSB Interview consists of:

• Stage-I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) & PPDT

• Stage-II: Psychology Tests, GTO Tasks & Personal Interview

3️⃣ Medical Examination

Candidates recommended by SSB undergo a detailed medical examination as per Army medical standards.

4️⃣ Final Merit List

• Prepared engineering stream-wise

• Based on:

  • SSB marks

  • Medical fitness

  • Vacancy availability

🏃 Physical Fitness Requirements (Indicative)

Candidates must be physically prepared to meet Army standards such as:

• 2.4 km run within stipulated time

• Push-ups

• Pull-ups

• Sit-ups

• Squats & lunges

• Basic swimming knowledge

(Physical fitness is mandatory for training survival.)

During Training

• Monthly Stipend: ₹56,100

After Commissioning
